About Us
Ecologic Tech is the new name of the Freight Pipeline Company and its subsidiary The Greenest Brick Company. Our work is based on the research of the former founder, Dr. Henry Liu, who passed away in late 2010. Ecologic Tech’s mission is to focus solely on green technologies, utilizing fly ash and other innovative materials to create new products for the 21st century Eco conscious world.
In 2001 Dr Liu retired from the University of Missouri , where he was an award-winning professor for 35 years in the Civil Engineering department. Soon after his retirement, he started his
own business, the Freight Pipeline Company, to expand on (and commercialize) many of the ideas he had worked on at MU. His initial goal was to develop underground pipe transit to ship coal after it had been compacted into condensed logs. While researching that technology, Dr. Liu managed to translate the compacting process into developing fly ash bricks. Liu, familiar with fly ash from his work at the University’s coal fire plant, began researching and developing the first 100% fly ash brick. His work led to awards from Time Magazine, Popular Science, and History Channel. The company has since licensed out this brick technology for commercialization. Our US licensee CalStar Products launched in early 2010 and we expect our other licensees to be up and running in the near future.
Before Dr Liu’s untimely death, his son Jerry was appointed CEO of the company. With his BS in Engineering, and his MBA from Northwestern University, Jerry is the perfect person to lead the Company into the future. The Ecologic Tech team and its advisory board are dedicated towards bringing Dr. Liu’s visions to life. At present, we are concentrating on solving problems in the building materials and biomass sectors. These are older industries that have environmental problems but have historically not invested in R&D to bring innovative solutions to those problems..
Ecologic Tech now looks to build upon the success of the Fly Ash Brick and become a global leader in developing ground-breaking and innovative green building products for the future.
