Types of Services
(A) General Services
-
Pursure R & D, technology transfer, consulting services, and
commercialization of capsule pipeline technologies including coal log pipeline
(CLP), hydraulic capsule pipeline (HCP), and pneumatic capsule pipeline (PCP)
for transporting various solids and general freight.
-
Perform R & D, technology transfer, consulting services, and
commercialization of high-pressure compaction of various solid waste materials
including biomass (e.g. waste paper, wood waste, yard waste and combustible
part of the municipal solid waste), industrial solid waste (e.g. flyash, bottom
ash, and petroleum coke), mine waste (e.g. coal fines, lead mine trailing,
etc.), and hazardous solid wastes, turning them either into useful products
such as power plant fuel or brick, or into dense, impervious monoliths (blocks
or logs) for safe disposal without causing any pollution or safety problem.
-
Plan, design, and manage new projects on the afore-mentioned capsule pipeline
and high-pressure compaction technologies.
-
Provide consulting services on novel use of pipeline technologies and advanced
pipeline systems.
(B) Special Services Offered
-
Conduct feasibility studies for major cities to determine the technical and
economic feasibility of using pneumatic capsule pipelines (PCPs) for
underground freight transport. Depending on the degree of complexities
involved, each of such studies can be done in 6 to 12 months, at the cost of
$50,000 to $100,000. (See the feasibility study conducted for New York City
cited before as an example.)
-
Conduct feasibility study and preliminary design of a specific capsule pipeline
system needed by industries for transport of minerals, solid wastes (including
both hazardous and non-hazardous wastes), construction materials, or any other
product. Such a study can be done in 3 to 6 months, at the cost of $30,000 to
$50,000.)
-
Conduct tests for electric utilities and other organizations that are seeking
to use their flyash for making bricks, blocks and other construction
materials, using the proprietary brick-making process developed by FPC. Two
types of services are offered:
-
Preliminary tests to determine the quality (strength and freeze/thaw
resistance) of fly ash bricks that can be made from particular types of flyash.
(To be completed in 3 months at $5,000 for each type of flyash tested,
including a test report.)
-
A detailed investigation to determine both the quality of the flyash bricks
made from a maximum of three types of flyash from a given power plant, and a
preliminary market and cost analysis to determine the cost of manufacturing
such bricks and their market potential. (To be completed in 6 months at
$30,000.)
